The IF Review-a-thon
The IF Review-a-thon (aka RaT) is an annual event that I started in 2024 to spur reviews of IF works that haven't received much previous reviewing attention. Authors who'd like to participate can do so by submitting their eligible works to the year's IFDB poll (see below).
RaT runs annually from July 1 into August. During this time, participating reviewers post reviews of participating works on the Interactive Fiction Community Forum, IFDB, or both. To join in as a reviewer, all you have to do is write at least one review!
Note: In the event of my demise/unforeseen disappearance from the internet, anyone is free to initiate the next Review-a-thon! All you'd have to do is pull the list of works from the current IFDB poll and make an announcement on the Intfiction forum.
Eligibility & How to Submit
To be eligible for submission to the Review-a-thon, a work must:
- Have five or fewer reviews across the Interactive Fiction Community Forum and IFDB at the time of submission to the event.
- Not include any art, code, or writing produced by generative AI (see the FAQs on the Weekly Roundup page for why).
To submit works for inclusion, authors should add them to the IFDB poll for the coming year (or ask me to add them for you). There is a limit of three works per author per year. The poll for 2026 is here.
